New Required Field: Coumadin

March 11, 2004 - The next time that the CORI server receives updates from CORI central we will make an additional area required. This update will cover an area in the history section relating to whether the patient is on Coumadin and, if so, to specify what the treatment plan will be in regard to this.

Recommendations for the management of Coumadin around the time of endoscopy come from the ASGE and all patients should be asked about it prior to undergoing procedure as taking a biopsy could cause an anti-coagulated person to have a life-threatening bleed.
